Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of work motivation, of staff in ITS, competence, and compensation on performance through job satisfaction in education staff in the ITS environment. The subject of this study is the ITS education staff, which is one of the state universities in Surabaya, East Java. The population of this study was 1,083, with a total sample of 292 people. Calculation of samples comes from the Slovin formula using a percentage of 5% allowance. This study uses explanatory methods with quantitative approaches. The method of collecting data uses a questionnaire distributed to 292 people from all education staff at ITS. The analysis technique used is the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the help of the AMOS (Analysis of Moment Strucures) program. The results of the study concluded that there was a significant effect of work motivation, competence, compensation, and job satisfaction on the performance of education personnel. Similarly, work motivation and compensation have a significant effect on job satisfaction. As for compensation for job satisfaction, the effect is not significant.
